The Backstage Beastie

The backstage beastie hides out in the wings,
Doing terrible, horrible, nasty things.
It makes lot’s of noise in each dramatic pause,
Shoults out obscenities throughout the applause.
On opening night, it’ll trash the revues,
By hiding marbles and tissues in the actors’ shoes.
It’ll move props from left wing to right,
And give the house crew a most terrible fright,
And rearrange the set to make confusion,
So that no one can find a damn thing when they use them.
It’ll laugh and jeer and make the stage manager cry,
And though we fight back, no matter how hard we try,
The beastie moves on and disrupts each song,
That’s why it’s not our fault, when something goes wrong.
